Armor

Guidelines

GM Approval

All armor must be approved by a GM before use in the realm. This can be done by simply sending a picture or link of the desired armor to a GM for approval.

Classification

The armor piece that defines the armor you are wearing is the main material of the torso armor you are wearing that must cover at least most of your strike zone. If you are wearing a light leather chestpiece that has some metal trim on it, it would count as light leather armor since the light leather is the main material of the armor.

Round Up

If you happen to be wearing two different chest pieces within your armor class, like metal armor and a heavy cloth vest over it, then only the best armor you are wearing is the HP you gain.

Trim

Armor Trim Pieces, such as pauldrons, bracers, leg armor, boots, etc. have no effect on your HP total. Since they provide no bonus, any type of Armor Trim Pieces can be worn with any class, such as metal pauldrons counted as accessories for the Mercenary.

Class 1

Cloth (+0 HP)

Any piece of clothing made of a lighter material like cotton or polyester shirts.

Fur (+1 HP)

Any armor that looks like fur was taken off an animal and connected to a base that would be considered Cloth Armor. If the base of the fur armor resembles that of a higher tier of armor, that armor type is used instead of fur.

Heavy Cloth (+2 HP)

Any material that is heavier than what would be considered Cloth Armor like denim. Heavy cloth is also anything normally worn over what would be considered Cloth Armor, like overcoats or vests, as long as they cover the majority of the strike zone; cloaks do not count as armor. Cloth Gambesons would also fall into this category.

Light Leather (+4 HP)

Any armor piece that is a flat piece of leather shaped to be worn on the chest, or thin pleather material similar to what comes with costumes. The pleather material is usually thin and has a shine to it.

Class 2

Chainmail (+5 HP)

Any armor piece that appears to be made by looping small links of metal together. This can be actual metal links or a material with the appearance of metal.

Heavy Leather (+7 HP)

Any armor piece that is made using real leather and is treated in some way, such as braiding, boiling, multiple layers, or weaving.

Metal (+10 HP)

Metal is any piece of armor that is made from a solid piece of metal, and these tend to resemble metal plate mail in appearance.
