Description

Mercenaries are a highly adaptive, modular class build on accessories and tactical thought and planning. They are built more around mobility and planning rather than pure strength or skill, and have no proficiencies with complex ranged weaponry, magic, or enchantments. They rely on technologically superior equipment over magical items, they are highly customizable and present a generalist style of gameplay for the martial-type class.

Mercenaries typically wield short swords, daggers, throwing weapons, slings, and other one-handed weapons.

Guild Member

You won’t be hunted by other mercenaries or arrested if your identity is revealed in a town. But you may have to betray party members for your guild loyalties.

Freelancer

If you’re revealed to be a Freelancer your safety is compromised, however you walk your own path and can stay true to your values.

Special Abilities: Equipment (Choose One)

Dreadweave Combat Skin

Gain 5 max HP. While it can be worn with a standard attire, additional accessories are still encouraged for the effect.

Electromagnetic Restrainer

Must have accessory equipped. When activated, inflict Restrict on next hit, lasting 3 seconds. Utility: 3

Combat Reciprocator

Must have accessory equipped. Passive, upon being knocked unconscious, revive to quarter health after 5 seconds. Utility: 1

Tier 2

Bounty Hunter

Description

“For those with a vast knowledge of ancient spells.”

At this stage the Mercenary has been making a name for themselves and they can either lean into a certain playstyle or keep to a broader sense of equipment usage.

Arsenal

Forgo upgrading current accessory in use, you may choose a second accessory from Tier 1.

Maelstrom Combat Gear

Gain an additional max 3 HP and Immunity to Cripple on the body part the accessory set is on, if held by multiple parts one must be chosen. Must have the Dreadweave Combat Skin special ability equipped.

Restrainer Amplification Module

When activated inflict Root for 1 second and deal double damage when the Bounty Hunter Mercenary is hit or touched. Amplifier charge lasts until used. Must have the Electromagnetic Restrainer special ability equipped. Utility: 3

Battlefield Regulator

When activated, potions and beneficial alchemical effects have double the potency on use. One potion per utility charge. Must have the Combat Reciprocator special ability equipped. Utility: 3
